Virtual Reality for Museum Artefacts
The challenge
Historical artefacts reach museums worn, broken or incomplete. Visitors see a fragment and have to imagine the object it once was and the life around it.
What we built
We built a virtual reality experience that shows artefacts as they looked when they were made, reconstructed in 3D, with narration that tells their story.
Visitors put on a headset and see the object restored in front of them, while the original stays safely in its case. The experience is a validated prototype, ready to grow with the museum.
Business value
- Artefacts shown as they originally looked
- Stories told through narration, not only labels
- A memorable visit for every age group
- Originals protected while visitors explore
Where else it applies
The same approach transfers to heritage sites, archaeology, education, and tourism. It belongs to our Immersive and Spatial Experiences work: virtual reality that lets engineers and customers see complex infrastructure or products before acting on them.
Task
Show visitors how historical artefacts originally looked, and tell their story.
